Next week we board Amtrak for a three day trip back to Virginia. Three days sitting in the cheap seats, no sleeper car, no stop overs. What were thinking? Well that trip is for another post. For this post I’d like to put up some of my favorite photos from our travels over the last three months. This is the first of two posts.

This is on the trail to the Emerald Pools in Zion National Park. I’m standing under a waterfall and looking up.
Walking up the Narrows at Zion.
Near the east entrance road of Zion before the tunnel.
Hiking up from Wall Street, Bryce National Park.
Bryce from the rim.
Heading down trail through Wall Street, Bryce.
The Hoodoos of Bryce National Park.
North Rim of Grand Canyon in October.
Boater on Colorado River headed toward the Grand Canyon, just south of Lee’s Ferry.
Looking at bridge over Colorado River from inside the Lake Powell Visitor Center.
My apologies to Oregon and Idaho for not making the cut but Utah and Arizona are incredibly tough to beat when it comes to photogenic states. I hope you enjoy the photos and thanks for following my blog.

  1. Hi Tom ,Those are great photos ! You are an artist . See you in Virginia . H & H .

  2. Wonderful landscape shots thanks for sharing, but remember that when you get the time to come to Oregon, we have colorful deserts at 3000 to 4000 feet, Snow peaked Mountains over 12,000 feet and the Blue Pacific Ocean at zero.

  3. beautiful photos! everything seems very sunny 🙂
